Johannes Rauner: Trends in Affiliate Marketing
A year ago, last-click attribution was still very prevalent. And at the time of the podcast recording with Johannes, the focus on a single channel was also very one-sided. But the “last click wins” approach and the single-channel perspective are highly problematic, because other partners involved in the customer journey end up empty-handed. One solution that would also make the effectiveness of collaborations—for example, with an influencer on Instagram—transparent is the use of personalized coupon or discount codes. How do you view the evolution of attribution strategies over the past year? Has last-click attribution been phased out? Feel free to share your thoughts on this in our Partner Marketing Club!
Christian Bünder: Technology Migration to Ingenious Technologies
Migrating an existing affiliate network while business continues as usual, without disrupting the productivity of advertisers and publishers? That sounds like a massive undertaking. Effective and consistent communication—both internally and externally—is therefore crucial for a project of this scale.
