In a growing community where new members join regularly, it can sometimes be difficult to maintain a sense of community. When members are spread out across multiple locations —and likely even across different countries and time zones —and don’t have the opportunity to meet in person on the fly, that presents an entirely different challenge.
A few weeks ago, we launched the Partner Marketing Community . This free community is intended to be a place where people can discuss current topics related to affiliate marketing. But we also want to offer you a place to make new contacts and build a network—in the true spirit of affiliate marketing.

Taking the first step and sending a message out of the blue to someone you don’t know yet might feel like a bit much to ask. Don’t worry—we’re not here to list the best icebreakers for you. No, we’ve come up with an exciting new project for our community. We’d like to invite you to our Slack channel #networking-roulette. Every week, a random generator will match two people. How, where, and what you choose to discuss is entirely up to you. Every Monday, both contacts will be introduced to each other, and the rest is up to you.
Are you currently busy with time-consuming projects, or maybe you're already on a well-deserved vacation? No problem—you can set a longer break in the "Donut" feature under Settings, or simply leave the channel.

Become a member
First, sign up for free in our affiliate marketing community. You can find the form here.
Join the Slack channel
Our Networking Roulette takes place in the Slack channel #networking-roulette. You can find the channel by clicking“Add channel” >“Browse all channels,” and then simply click“Join” to join.
Matching
An algorithm—we use the "Donut" matching system here—randomly pairs participants. In the settings, you can specify if you don’t want to be matched with certain people or if you’d like to take a break. Every Monday, you’ll automatically receive a notification letting you know who you’ve been matched with.
Schedule an appointment
You can schedule a meeting with your matched partner right in the notification. Due to the ongoing COVID situation, the sessions will start virtually. This means you can arrange to meet via a Zoom link, for example. You will receive an email letting you know who your next coffee partner is and when you can meet with them.

Then we’ll get started—whether over coffee or lunch, it’s entirely up to you how the meeting goes. As for the topics, feel free to chat and just get to know each other. And maybe a collaboration or two will come out of it. 
The algorithm ensures that you won't be matched with the same person more than once, giving you the chance to get to know everyone in the group.
